Why Lasting Health Begins with Your Thoughts
If you’ve ever started to change your health, you may have noticed that it’s not always the plan that’s hardest to follow, but the thoughts that come along with it. The quiet, doubtful ones.
“This isn’t working.”
“I’ll never be consistent.”
“I’m missing out.”
“It’s too late for me.”
These thoughts don’t just stay in your mind. They shape your emotions. They influence your choices.
And over time, they affect your body in ways many women don’t even realize.

The Connection Between Thoughts and the Body
Your body is always responding to what your mind is processing. When your thoughts feel stressful, overwhelming, or discouraging, your body responds by increasing stress hormones like cortisol. This can affect:
  • blood sugar balance
  • sleep quality
  • energy levels
  • cravings
  • nervous system regulation
Even when you’re eating well or trying to make healthier choices, an unsettled mind can keep your body in a state of tension. This is one reason lasting health can feel out of reach. It’s not just about what you’re doing. It’s about what you’re thinking.

The Power of Imagination
One of the most overlooked parts of health is the role of imagination. The mind, when left uncontrolled, is constantly creating pictures, imagining worst-case scenarios, and replaying past frustrations, anticipating failure before it happens.

Unfortunately, the body doesn't discern between truth and imagination, so it responds to those thoughts as if they are happening in real time.

If the mind is filled with pressure, fear, or discouragement, the nervous system can stay activated even in moments that should feel calm.

But the same system that can create stress… can also create peace. Through learning how to:
Discern your thoughts with wisdom
Calm your thoughts instead of escalating them
Create systems that support both your mind and body
This is why health is not just a personal goal; it’s a form of stewardship. A daily practice of aligning what you think with what the Bible teaches.

What Renewal Looks Like in Real Life
Renewing your mind doesn’t mean ignoring reality or pretending everything is perfect.
It means swiftly redirecting your thoughts when they begin to move in a direction that creates stress instead of support.
It may look like:
  • Replacing “I can’t do this” with “I can take one step today.”
  • Letting go of all-or-nothing thinking
  • Speaking truth over your situation instead of frustration
Put your thoughts through the Think Test...
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8

These small shifts change more than your mindset. They change your physiology. A calm, controlled mind helps regulate cortisol. A regulated nervous system supports better metabolism, sleep, digestion, and energy. And over time, the body begins to respond to what the brain is thinking and the mind is believing.

A Biblical Foundation for Renewal
This principle is not new. We all begin making healthier choices because of a pain or a goal, not realizing there are mental barriers we will need to overcome along the way. Bad habits die hard!

“And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2

When the mind is renewed, actions begin to follow more easily. And when actions are repeated consistently, patterns begin to develop. This is how lasting health is built. Not through pressure, but through steady, intentional thoughts.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
If you’ve ever felt like you know what to do, but struggle to stay consistent, there’s a reason.
Support and guidance matter when you’re making extensive changes to decades of habits. Having someone walk with you as you build a new mindset makes a difference.

That’s exactly why I created the Health ReNewed program. It’s not a quick fix or a short-term plan.
It’s a guided path to help you:
  • support your body in midlife
  • build sustainable health habits
  • and renew your thinking along the way
💛 If you’re ready to move from frustration to steadiness, I’d love to walk with you.

Hello, I'm Dana!

If I had known the truth about the toxic carcinogens lurking in the foods, cleaning products, personal care items, and laundry products I was buying, I would have done more to preserve my health! Like most Americans, I had NO CLUE; there were toxins in them that were DESTROYING my body.

Since 2013, when my journey back to wellness began, I have spent loads of money (because insurance doesn't cover WELL care) and hours learning what the root cause of my chronic pain, fatigue, dense brain fog, and lethargy was.

After four years of researching and experimenting with different so-called "natural or green" products, and re-learning how to shop, read labels, cook, and clean, my struggle to find safe, plant-based products was complete. I easily began transforming my home into a safe environment that no longer created health problems. I have now replaced all of my medications with plant-based foods and products that work wonderfully without the side effects!!

Are you struggling to find real relief for your symptoms, too? Do you desire to see the health God designed you to have? Would you enjoy a community of wellness-seeking people to help educate you, share experiences, and offer some great tips?

I'm confident this is what you're searching for, too. Let me invite you to join my educational group, Biblical Health for Christ-Centered Homemakers. Want to chat more about your journey to wellness and how you can help your family, too? Click below to contact me now!
