Why Muscle Matters More to Metabolism in Midlife

Why Muscle Matters More to Metabolism in Midlife

Dana Ellison Metabolism, MidLife, Muscle
For many women, the scale has long been their measure of health. But in midlife, it may not be telling the whole story. For years, we’ve been taught that less is better; less food, lower numbers, smaller bodies. Yet this season of life often invites us to look at health a little differently. Instead of focusing only on shrinking, we can begin focusing on strengthening.Muscle plays an important role in how the body functions. It helps us stay strong enough to care for our homes, serve our families, and walk faithfully through the responsibilities God has given us.The encouraging news is that building strength doesn’t have to be complicated. Simple strength-building movement a few times each week can support the body in meaningful ways.So instead of asking, “How can I weigh less?”Perhaps the better question is:“How can I become stronger?”Read my blog to learn how muscle and strength benefit your weight in this season.

When Detox Becomes Discipleship: Caring for Your Liver is Health Stewardship

Dana Ellison Detox, Liver, Stewardship
Ever feel like your body is a zombie…pushing through the day in a deep fog, tired, puffy, and just *off*?Most women assume it’s just stress, age, or a lack of willpower yet there’s a hard-working, behind-the-scenes “filter system” that impacts energy, digestion, hormones, skin, and even mood more than we realize. And here’s the part that surprised me: in holistic wellness, this system is also tied to emotions like irritability, frustration, and feeling easily overwhelmed.I’m sharing a new post this week that connects the dots between:- your liver + gallbladder- modern overload (food, stress, environment)- and why “support” looks different than you’ve been toldIf you’ve been trying to be a good steward of your body but keep hitting the same wall… you’ll want to read this.

Why Detoxing Matters for Midlife Women

Why Detoxing Matters for Midlife Women

Dana Ellison Detox, Metabolism, Stewardship
When you hear the word “detox,” do you immediately think of restrictive diets or expensive juice cleanses?Let’s change that perspective. In reality, detoxification isn’t a fad; it is a brilliant system God designed within you to process waste, hormones, and inflammation. But in midlife, as our hormones shift, those natural pathways (especially the liver) can get sluggish. This often shows up as that lingering fatigue, brain fog, or stubborn weight that feels impossible to move.Being a good steward of your body doesn't mean punishing it with extremes. It means supporting the temple God gave you with gentle, sustainable habits.

Hello, I'm Dana!

I used to struggle with painful joints, exhaustion, and excess weight. I wanted to enjoy time with my family and serve in church ministries, but some days I barely had the energy to keep up.

At the worst point of my health, the Lord led me to learn about nutrition, supplements, and the chemicals I was using in my home. Making small changes gradually over six months drastically improved my health and changed how I cared for it.

Now I help Christian women who are active in serving their families and/or church ministries renew their health, support better sleep, manage fatigue, and care for their blood sugar. We focus on nutrition, supplements, movement, and a biblical mindset, one step at a time.

If that’s you, get in touch. I’d love to help.
